Lights & Exploration

Vivid Sydney

If you have not heard about it before, its happening now till 9 June (this Monday) around Circular Quay and Sydney city. The lighting are really pretty and it just adds a sense of vibrancy to the life. I went there on Monday night, and it was spectacular! If you are in Sydney, do go see the lights festivals. If you are not, well there is always next year, plus! I'm sure Sydney is not the only city that has it, so if your city does have such a festival, you must go. I will repeat: YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY GO! Photos are below (Sorry if the quality isn't very good)...

But First...

That's ME!

& my friend, Faizal, who is here on internship with me:)

Sydney Harbour Bridge lit up. So pretty :)

One of my favourite light-ups of the Sydney Opera House. So vibrant and cheerful.

Yes, I was having ice cream in the freezing cold night. But it was all worth it cause the weather made eating ice cream enjoyable on a whole new level.

This may just look like light sticks and mirrors...

But when someone looks through the space on the other side, what we see is some cool reflections!

This just looks real trippy. And it kinda reminds me of jellyfishes :)

This guitarist is super cool and really talented. He performs along the walkway towards the Museum of Contemporary Art, so do check him out! (If he still performs there)

Electrifying~

Light up of the D

After seeing those photos makes you wanna go too right? Well, you really should, I can't emphasize that enough! Though it's not all the light exhibits (it's most of it), I hope it's enough to get you interested! :)

Hello from Down Under

Hey there!

Typing my first post with frozen fingers. (I probably should invest in some GLOVES!) "Where are you?" you are wondering. Good question, I am in Sydney, Australia. Home of the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, whale watching opportunities, Bondi beach and many others. Currently it's winter (opposite from the Northern Hemisphere), which explains the state of my fingers. Lucky for the bottom half of my body, it is kept relatively warm under my quilt; whilst my torso is fighting to keep warm with long sleeves and a jacket. Past few nights have been fine, but with the constant rain (been raining all day since Wednesday), yep, the nights are definitely cold. But it's okay, I like this kind of weather, something I definitely do not experience in Singapore.

Back to the reason why I'm here. I'm here on internship. With... UNSW! I'm doing my Final Year Project (FYP) here with another friend of mine together with the university on a feasible study. Rather interesting topic, but I'm sure you do not want to hear me blabber on about my research topic. So basically, me in Sydney working on my FYP with UNSW.

I have given Audible a try. I've heard this particular app (right to call it an app?) from a Youtuber Jenn Im, whom you might know as clothesencounters . After being mentioned at how good it was, I have decided to download the app, and start by listening to an audio book. (Also check out her latest video on "May favourites" to learn how you can get a free trial and a free audio book) Something new which I have not done before, so this would be a new experience to me. Books that I have so far is:

1. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (Free, Unabridged)
2. I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas (Free, Unabridged)

I still have one more book to get as I have a free credit. Not too sure which book to get on, so if any of you readers have a good recommendation, please do comment and let me know! Many thanks in advance.

I'm going to do another post really shortly, once I've edited my photos. So I'll be writing soon :)
